Cannot load any data

Hi, after installing orange on Ubuntu Maverick, performing some of the dirty tricks suggested on this forum, I get this when I try to open any of the example files:

Unhandled exception of type AttributeError occured at 14:19:41:
File:, line 61 in __call__
Code: self.method(*k)
File:, line 142 in selectFile
Code: self.browseFile(1)
File:, line 203 in browseFile
Code: self.openFile(self.recentFiles[0], 0, self.symbolDK, self.symbolDC)
File:, line 286 in openFile
Code: attrs = [ for attr, stat in zip(data.domain, data.attributeLoadStatus) if stat == status] \
AttributeError: 'orange.ExampleTable' has no attribute 'attributeLoadStatus'

Any clues?

Same Problem

I have the same problem on Ubuntu Maverick, except mine occures given any data file.

I'm using the version from the debian repositories.
I have created a soft link to dist-packages as the Debian version expects to be running in python 2.5 and maverick supports 2.6

Anyone solved this issue yet?

I can't duplicate this error.
Could you try building orange from source and see if the error persists. Just run
Code: Select all
svn co orange
svn co orange/source
cd orange
python build
python install --user

This will install orange locally in ~/.local/lib/python2.6/site-packages so it does not conflict with the system install. You can then run canvas with ~/.local/bin/orange-canvas

Make sure g++ and numpy are installed, before building.

It is working, after a compile must be a debian vs ubuntu issue.
