trouble running canvas on mac os

Postby Jeff » Tue Jan 20, 2009 2:25

Hi, I just installed Fink/X11/Orange-canvas (stable) and I can't get it to run. I execute
Code: Select all
python /sw/lib/python2.5/site-packages/orange/OrangeCanvas/orngCanvas.pyw

and get the error
Code: Select all
ImportError: No module named qt

So I tried
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get qt3
and it installed some things but I still get the error. I'm new at this so it's probably not a bug, but what am I doing wrong?

wrong python, now icons don't appear

Ok, part of the problem was that I was using the Mac python install, rather than the python2.5 that fink installed. But now when I run the orange canvas, the icons appear white. I'm guessing the jpeg decoder library in qt isn't there, but I can't find a package to install to get it. Help?

Jeff, (first, sorry for very late reply): we have no idea why this does not run on your Mac, it runs well on all our Mac's. Let us know if you still have a problem with this.
