Error while Installation

I tried to install orange on my system which has Ubuntu 10.04 as per the instructions given on this link I also downloaded the latest source code from the link.
But when i run "python build", i get the following error :

ImportError: cannot import name orange

Fixed in revision 510c2b571117.

BTW, if you plan to develop orange, you should probably clone the repository using
Code: Select all
hg clone ssh://

and then compile it using
Code: Select all
python build_ext -i

This way, compiled objects will be placed into the Orange dir. This way, you can modify python files and try out your changes without reinstalling orange.

Thanks for the help, it worked. But after installing when i try to run it it gives me the following error....

IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/orange/Orange/OrangeCanvas/orngCanvas.pyw'

Please Help

This looks like you have multiple versions of orange installed.

Try deleting the /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/orange folder and install it again.
