Could not build from source

Postby dbo001 » Mon Apr 23, 2012 14:21

Hello everyone,

I am trying to install Orange 2.6a1 in my Ubuntu 10.04 OS. When I try to build the package using command

python setup.py build

it returns with the following error

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "setup.py", line 33, in <module>
LONG_DESCRIPTION = open(os.path.join(os.path.dirname(__file__), 'README.rst')).read()
IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'README.rst'

Seems like README.rst is not in the package. And where exactly this README.rst file is located?

Can anyone please help me in resolving this issue?

There was a problem with the source distribution packaging. Can you clone the orange repository https://bitbucket.org/biolab/orange and run setup.py from the repository root or wait for the tomorrows source snapshot.

What error do you get? Also the nightly snapshot (http://orange.biolab.si/download/orange-source-snapshot-hg-2012-04-25.zip) is now fixed, so you can try that.
