Please run
Code: Select all
C:\Python27\python.exe -m Orange.OrangeCanvas.main

Do you by any chance have some other PyQt4 or Qt4 installation on your machine? (In particular Qt4 comes along bundled with a miktex).

Can you please run
Code: Select all
echo %PATH%
from the Command Prompt and post the results.

I don't think so. this is the result of running the code:

C:\Users\Admin>echo %PATH%
C:\Python27\Lib\site-packages\PyQt4\bin;C:\Program Files\PC Connectivity Solutio
n\;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Windows Live;C:\Windows\system
32;C:\Windows;C:\Windows\System32\Wbem;C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.

This thread might be related (the sip module mentioned in that thread comes with PyQt4 and you both have MATLAB in your PATH).

Try setting PATH to the bare minimum and run canvas again
Code: Select all
set PATH="C:\Python27\Lib\site-packages\PyQt4\bin;C:\Windows\system32;C:\Windows;C:\Windows\System32\Wbem"
C:\Python27\python.exe -m Orange.OrangeCanvas.main

Also try running Dependency Walker on C:\Python27\Lib\site-packages\PyQt4\QtGui.pyd and see if that reports any errors.

I got these warnings on the dependency walker:
Error: At least one required implicit or forwarded dependency was not found.
Error: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in an implicitly dependent module.
Warning: At least one delay-load dependency module was not found.
Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module.

MSVCR90.DLL

IESHIMS.DLL

for these two modules the error message is : Error opening file. The system cannot find the file specified.

QTCORE4.DLL this module was marked in red color in the "Link Checksum" column.
