Problems Installing Orange with Windows Anaconda

Postby Hackathorn » Sun Mar 30, 2014 3:39

Having the same problem installing Orange with Anaconda Python under Windows. Install goes smoothly, but when I import the Orange package, "No Module Named Orange".
Code: Select all
Python 2.7.5 |Anaconda 1.8.0 (64-bit)| (default, Jul  1 2013, 12:37:52) [MSC v.1500 64 bit (AMD64)]
    Type "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.

    IPython 1.0.0 -- An enhanced Interactive Python.
    ?         -> Introduction and overview of IPython's features.
    %quickref -> Quick reference.
    help      -> Python's own help system.
    object?   -> Details about 'object', use 'object??' for extra details.

    In [2]: import orange
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ImportError                               Traceback (most recent call last)
    <ipython-input-2-b3d81ddeaaa5> in <module>()
    ----> 1 import orange

    ImportError: No module named orange

Checked Orange installation site at C:\Users\XYZ\Anaconda\Lib\site-packages\Orange\
Regedit shows HCU /software/Python/2.7/InstallPath/ as C:\Users\XYZ\Anaconda

Can anyone give suggestions? Thank you! :roll:

Try
Code: Select all
import Orange
(Note the capital O).
Did you install the official Orange pakages from the orange download website? I'm afraid they are 32-bit only and will not work with a 64 bit Python build.
