Programming with Orange, a newbie question (SVMs to PHP).

Postby DamirOlejar » Fri Aug 08, 2014 16:30

Hi,

As a newbie to Orange, I would like to ask a technical question.

Since Orange uses the libSVM that exists for Python as well as PHP programming languages, I would like to do the following:

1. Use Orange with Python to train the SVMs (as described here: http://mlcorner.wordpress.com/tag/suppo ... r-machine/)
2. Use the trained SVMs and integrate them into a functioning PHP-only program.

Would it be possible to do such a transfer, from Python to PHP since the same libraries are used?
Any additional information would be appreciated.

Thank you kindly,

Damir

You can export the svm model in the LibSVM native format:
Code: Select all
classifier = Orange.classification.svm.SVMLearner(data)
model_string = classifier.get_model()
print model_string

I am not familiar with the PHP interface to LibSVM but I am assuming it is possible to import a model from a native format.
