Orange Widgets

I have couple of questions about orange widgets?
Is there any documentaion for developer to create there own widgets?
Can you create a widget which does not inherit from OWWidget?
One suggestion: Should we add a tree control for widget besides tab and toolbar? This will allow to select widgets without image.

My motivation is to experiment with orange to do some data flow programming with it. This is one of the best "visual programming" env. and very clear code. It is dead simple to create once own widgets.

Thanks for great work.

A tutorial on how to write Orange Widgets is now online (http://www.ailab.si/orange/doc/widgets). Missing is the reference section, which is in writing.

Orange Widgets need to inherit from OWWidget. But you can write any GUI application with Qt and use objects from Orange, except that then you won't be able to use such a component in Orange Canvas.

On tree control: we are aware on the problem (with having too many icons with no names), and will adress it time permitting. Thanks for suggestion, we will think in lines you propose.
