Building a custom installer

Postby Guest » Sat Jan 26, 2008 17:52

Some of us have developed several widgets to be used on Orange Canvas. At the moment, distributing these to a user who is completely new to Python and Orange is a challenge -- need to provide a page of instructions, first install orange (make sure it is the correct version), download over widgets, place them, build the registry etc.

What we like is to be able to provide the user with a single package like the original orange, which will install Python, required packages, orange and finally our hacks. Is there any way this can be done. Would it be possible for example to access the original packaging scripts used by orange team.

Thanks in advance,
