How do I run the Orange Canvas?

Postby kdd » Thu Mar 13, 2008 23:04

Hi all,

I just spent several hours trying to install Orange on Ubuntu, and I think I've finally succeeded. I was able to run a few of the scripting examples found in the Orange white paper, but I'd also like to try the visual stuff to verify that Orange is happy with my Qt installation, etc.

My question is: How do I run the GUI in Linux? All the tutorials and papers that I've browsed appear to assume that it is already running, but I don't know what command to use.

Thanks,
Ken

I run it with: python /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/orange/OrangeCanvas/orngCanvas.pyw

Your orngCanvas.pyw might be located elsewhere.

Marko

Thanks, it works! I'll post some notes regarding my installation procedure within the next few days.
