How to find patterns using Association Rules

Postby Hozano » Wed Oct 29, 2008 15:05

Hi.

First of all, I am a newbie in data mining.

I am developing a web service application where users request weather about a specific location. In this application I want to find patterns of the user requests, looking for patterns where a specific user ever request the web service at a specific hour on a specific day of week (or month) passing specific latitude and longitude.

I have began with orange association rules working with a user request table, such as:

Code: Select all
user   hour_day   month_day   week_day   latitude   longitude
d   d   d   d   d   d

1   3   1   3   12   12
1   3   2   3   12   12
1   3   2   3   12   12
1   4   3   3   12   12
1   5   4   3   12   12
2   5   4   3   12   12
2   5   4   3   12   11
3   5   5   5   12   12

Using this table I need to found the pattern that indicates that the User 1 ever requests the application passing latitude=12 and longitude=12 at third day of week at 3 o'clock.

How can i do it using orange? Should I use association rules for it? Are there any IRC channel with orange discussions and online help?

Currently I am following the documentation presented on http://www.ailab.si/orange/doc/ofb/assoc.htm

Thanks.
