Installing orange on redhat

Postby chapbe@pitt.edu » Fri Mar 06, 2009 23:02

I have successfully installed orange on Ubuntu. I've been trying to install it on a Red Hat machine. Python 2.5 is installed in /usr/local/lib instead of /usr/lib, as in the Ubuntu instructions. Changing this and doing evrything else the same, I compile orange just fine, and install it. I can run orange canvas and import most of the modules just fine. However, when I import orngStat, the import fails:

<type 'exceptions.ImportError'>: liborange.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

The liborange.so (link to orange.so) is righ there in the orange directory. I'm at a loss to explain this problem. Any help would be appreciated.
