RuntimeWarning error?

Postby hoodis » Thu Mar 05, 2009 14:44

hello, I've been trying to compile Orange on red hat linux (running python 2.5) and came across this error after installation (following the instructions you gave for Ubuntu). I'm wondering if it's quickly fixable?

>>> import orange
__main__:1: RuntimeWarning: Python C API version mismatch for module orange: This Python has API version 1013, module orange has version 1012

>>> import orngMDS
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/orange/orngMDS.py", line 16, in <module>
import orangeom as orangemds
ImportError:/ usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/orange/orangeom.so: undefined symbol: _ZN9TVariable12allVariablesE

Do you by any chance have multiple orange.so (or liborange.so) files lying around on your disk? My guess would be that orangeom.so finds the wrong liborange.so - the symbol which is reported missing appeared in Orange some half a year ago.

What do you get if you run

nm orange.so | grep allVariables

?

your guess was right - there's several different files lying about in various places! Thanks for your help!
