build problems on Fedora 9

Postby kbriggs » Tue Nov 11, 2008 15:23

I had lots of problems on Fedora 9. This should be a very standard platform that is easy to support.

The link "To install Orange on Linux follow these instructions" at http://magix.fri.uni-lj.si/orange/downloads.asp does not work ("Internal Server Error").

"svn checkout http://www.ailab.si/svn/orange/branches/ver1.0" does not work - it just waits a long time and them times out.

The link "Sources of the last stable version 1.0b2" actually gets version 0.9.66.

The introductory tutorial assumes Windows, but does not say so.

The function strlen from cstring is used without being declared. This is a fatal error - how did anybody ever compile it?

After fixing this, compilation crashed with

graph.cpp: In member function ‘std::set<int, std::less<int>, std::allocator<int> > TGraph::getConnectedComponent(int&)’:
graph.cpp:127: error: ‘set_difference’ was not declared in this scope
graph.cpp: In member function ‘int TGraph::getDiameter()’:
graph.cpp:168: error: ‘set_difference’ was not declared in this scope
graph.cpp:214: error: ‘set_difference’ was not declared in this scope
graph.cpp: In member function ‘std::vector<int, std::allocator<int> > TGraph::getLargestFullGraphs(std::vector<int, std::allocator<int> >, std::vector<int, std::allocator<int> >)’:
graph.cpp:267: error: ‘set_difference’ was not declared in this scope
graph.cpp:271: error: ‘set_intersection’ was not declared in this scope
graph.cpp: In member function ‘void TGraph::getClusters()’:
graph.cpp:326: error: ‘set_intersection’ was not declared in this scope
graph.cpp:338: error: ‘sort’ was not declared in this scope
make[1]: *** [obj/graph.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/kbriggs/Download/orange/source/orange'
make: *** [all] Error 1
