Debian Package conflicts with orange CAB extractor

Postby Alaak » Mon Jun 21, 2010 11:51

Hi

I tried to install orange on my ubuntu box and got the following error:

E: /var/cache/apt/archives/orange-svn_0.0.8958-1_amd64.deb: Versuche, /usr/bin/orange zu berschreiben, welches auch in Paket orange 0

Unfortunately in german, but the cause is, that there is another package called orange (a CAB file extractor), which is in conflict because both try to put a file called orange into "/usr/bin".

The workaround is to remove the other package, but this is no final solution. I would propose the rename the startupfile for orange into orange-dm or something like that.

Thanks
