Orange as a library

Postby graham » Wed Sep 22, 2010 16:54

I want to use Orange to generate graphs either within an application or via scripts to create dynamic PNGs for a webpage. Is this possible? The doc I've seen so far seems to suggest that it can only be used interactive.

Using Orange for this would be possible in a limited (and cumbersome) way. Basically you can construct individual widgets, pass them some data and save the graphs they create. You can see how to construct them in their source files (the 'if __name__ == "__main__":' part of the file). Also look in the source to see how to save the graph.
Also note that doing this on a linux server you need to have PyQt installed as well as a running X server, which is not recommended on an internet facing server.
