Segmentation Fault on Select Data widget

Postby Sachiel » Wed Nov 24, 2010 18:51

File A: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1390205/tmp_toorange.csv
File B: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1390205/tmp_1back.csv

Create a new empty canvas. Add a Open File widget. Add a Select Data widget and connect them. Open file A, setting "nan" as "don't know" values. Open the Select Data widget to set options (e.g., filter by place = AF) Everything works ok.

When the same is reproduced with File B, opening the Select Data widget produces a segmentation fault. With a manual review of the files I cannot find any remarkable differences on the file structure (actually, they are generated by the same code), only differences in the content. What could be the cause of the crash?

Sachiel,

we can't replicate this although we tried on several machines.

Please try rebooting your computer (joking; and while you're at it, please also delete your cookies and check that you have installed your OS from original disks).

Could you try to convert the two files into tab delimited format? Most of the code for reading the comma-separated and tab-delimited files is common, so it might help us locate the problem.

I couldn't reproduce it in another computer, so I just reinstalled Orange on the first computer and the problem was automagically solved...

I forgot to specify that I always use the SVN version under Linux environment.
