Problem compiling latest sources on Linux

Postby fccoelho » Tue Oct 05, 2004 13:53

Hi I am getting the following error when trying to compile orange on my gentoo box.

make: *** No rule to make target `gsl_matrix.h', needed by `obj/gslconversions.o'. Stop.

before you ask, I have gsl installed (compiled from source)

I am using:

gcc version 3.3.4 20040623 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.4-r1, ssp-3.3.2-2, pie-8.7.6)

thanks,

Try what Jason suggested in another thread: open the Makefile and replace /usr/local/include/gsl with /usr/include/gsl. Different versions of Linux put gsl in different directories, there's no standard location for it.

If it still doesn't work, gsl_matrix.h is at some third location - find it, replace the path in the Makefile and please also send the path to me, so I can add it to the Makefile.

Or is there a Linux expert here who knows a better solution than adding several possible directories to the path?

Janez
