Can't import Orange from GUI

Postby jimmylin212 » Thu Jan 03, 2013 10:51

HI, I am new in Orange.
I can't import this module use both "Orange" and "orange".
When I import orange, it shows an error message which is " 'module' object has no attribute 'c_bool' "
When I import Orange, it shows an error message which is "cannot import name Orange"

Is there anyone met the same problem with me, and how can i solve this problem.
Thank you very much.

Can you provide some more information about your system (OS, Python), as well as the steps you took to install Orange? Also can you provide the full traceback for the errors?

I am using Win7 64bit, and python version is 2.7.2.
I used both Full Package and Pure Package, but both didn't work.
The screenshot of full trace back is below, please check.

That is strange. It seems like 'ctypes' module is broken (part of the standard library distributed with python). Can you run
Code: Select all
import ctypes
print ctypes.c_bool
in a new python python interpreter session. Does it also raise an error?

Can you also run
Code: Select all
python -m unittest discover -v ctypes
from the command line. Do all the tests run successfully?

HI, thanks for your reply.
Both testing cause error and I think that's because the ctypes problem
Because ctypes is the module which included in python, do you know how can I solve this problem ?

Should I also append the error message here ?

HI, I already fixed the problem.
That's because I installed another ctypes module manually. When I import it, python import the old one instead the new one.

Thank you for your support.
