Can you please post the contents of canvas settings file located in ~/.config/biolab.si/Orange\ Canvas.ini

I have this file in ~/Library/Application Support/orange/OrangeCanvasQt4. I am attaching the file.

That is a wrong file. That was used by the 'old' (v2.6) Orange Canvas. Currently the configuration is stored in "~/.config/biolab.si/Orange Canvas.ini"

You can now delete the file and try starting Orange again.

Note: the problem seems to be that the path where the last open/save dialog was positioned is stored in the settings as an invalid value (last-scheme-dir=@Invalid() this happens when storing a python None value).

I think this could only have happened during early development of the 'new' Orange Canvas, i.e. before it was officially mainlined in release 2.7.

Were you running Orange Canvas before release 2.7 and only recently updated?

OK. This did the trick. I was deleting the wrong content in ~/Library/Application Support/orange before.

Yes, I was running beta versions in the past and just recently tried the new one.
