select attributes by typing them

If you have a data set with many attributes (like miroarray data) it's impossible to select a small subset of the attributes (previously defined) with the present widget - it would be great if you could add a feature, where one can type in the attribute's name and select it in that way.

We wouldn't like to multiply the number of widgets too much. There are just too many ideas like this one, and if each would be implemented in a new widget, their number would reach that of Weka KnowledgeFlow ... which is just too fragmented for my (our) taste.

If such functionality is implemented, it will surely be added to the existing Select Attributes. As I recall, the "Available attributes" are presented in the same order as they appear in the data set. If they represent gene names and they are sorted alphabetically, finding a few specific genes and adding them should not be a problem.

We can also add a LineEdit below the ListBox with available attributes, where one would type the beginning of the attribute name and the list box would show only the corresponding attributes (something like the Search line in Select Data).

However, we are just about to publish a beta version of 1.0 and are in a feature freeze mode right now. Besides, we are migrating from Qt 2.3 to 4.2 (4.3?) real soon, and while most changes should require no reprogramming, this one would so we shall leave the widget as it is for a while.
